TO initiate this you have to turn on windows default scheme before you will able to hear them .
To turn on WINDOWS XP DEFAULT SOUND SCHEME :

SINGLE CLICK ON START MENU
single click on control panel
single click on sound , speech and audio device icon
single click on the sound and audio device icon or { text labelled change the sound scheme)
make sure you are on the sound tab and locate the scroll menu for sound scheme : select the windows default option and click on apply .
now window will ask to save your previously stored sound scheme : if you have any then press yes , if there is no previously stored sound scheme then press "NO"
CAREFULLY LOOK beneath the text labelled "program events"
you will be able to customize your new sound for every task .
